Fracture- 1922 Diamond Street is a series of casts made from white Portland Cement and gravel aggregate concrete, common materials which symbolize the cycle of urban decay and renewal in my North Philadelphia neighborhood. Each piece will look like a rectangular square of earth extracted from a sidewalk, with a crack separating the two materials. The work begins to discuss the topic of gentrification in Philadelphia, and questions our notions of land ownership.
